Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 13, 2026
This policy describes how Misaka Sushi ("we," "us") handles information on misakasushi.com. The short version: this is a restaurant website, we collect very little, and we don't sell your information.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
If you use our contact form, we collect what you type into it: your name, email address, optional phone number, the topic you choose, and your message. We use it only to read and respond to your inquiry.
Analytics — only with your consent
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website — for example, which menu sections people read most. Here is exactly how it works:
- Analytics is off by default. Nothing is loaded from Google Analytics and no analytics cookies are set unless you choose "Allow analytics" in the consent banner.
- If you decline (or simply ignore the banner), the site works identically — no features are withheld.
- If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (named
_gaand_ga_…, lasting up to 2 years) and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate region, and device type. We use it only in aggregate; we do not use Google's advertising features, and we do not connect analytics data to your name or contact details. - You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops analytics and removes its cookies from your browser. You can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Google's handling of analytics data is described in Google's privacy policy.
Technical information
Our hosting and database provider (Google Firebase) automatically processes basic technical information — such as IP addresses and request logs — as part of serving the website securely and reliably. Firebase's handling of that data is described in Google's Firebase privacy documentation.
The administrative area of this site (used only by our staff) uses browser storage to keep staff signed in. Public pages do not require accounts or logins. Your cookie-consent choice itself is stored only in your own browser, not on our servers.
How We Use Information
- To respond to messages you send us through the contact form.
- To understand website usage in aggregate — only if you consent to analytics.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
That's it. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build individual profiles, and we do not send marketing email.
We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). Google Analytics, when you consent to it, is configured as a measurement service only — without Google's advertising or audience features — and Google acts as our service provider for that purpose. Because we don't sell or share personal information, no "Do Not Sell or Share" opt-out is needed on this site; the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer additionally lets you switch analytics off entirely.
Service Providers
We use a small number of service providers to run the website:
- Google Firebase — website hosting and our database, where contact-form messages are stored.
- Google Analytics — aggregate usage statistics, loaded only after you consent via the cookie banner (see "Analytics" above).
- Brevo — an email delivery service that forwards contact-form messages to our staff inbox. Brevo processes the message contents solely to deliver them (Brevo's privacy policy).
- Cloudflare — processes contact-form submissions in transit as our form backend, including standard technical data such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the service.
- ChowNow — online ordering, on ChowNow's own website. If you order online, ChowNow's privacy policy applies to what you provide there.
Links to social media (Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, Google) take you to those platforms, which have their own privacy policies.
How Long We Keep It
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for our records, after which we delete them. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
Your Rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we have about them, to request a copy of it, to ask us to delete it, and to correct it — and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Given how little we collect, these requests are usually simple: contact us and we'll take care of it. We will verify your request using the email address associated with your message.
Visitors from the EU/EEA and UK (GDPR)
If the General Data Protection Regulation applies to you: our legal basis for processing contact-form data is our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and for analytics it is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Everyone
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we have about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. We don't need a legal reason to do right by our guests.
Children
This website is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and contact-form messages are stored in a database that only authenticated staff can read. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant — for example, if we ever add analytics — we will make that clear on this page.
